ANTIGONISH, N.S. - Police in Nova Scotia are investigating a pair of incidents involving bear spray.

The RCMP in Antigonish say two people picked up a woman hitchhiking last week and travelled to a residence in Inverness County.

Police say the woman's behaviour became strange and she reportedly used bear spray on several people and fled the area.

The woman was later arrested.

Meanwhile, police say bear spray was used during a home invasion in Port Hawkesbury last week.

The RCMP say someone went into a home, sprayed a man with bear spray, and fled the scene.

They say it's not a random act.
