Newfoundland and Labrador police find man dead in water wearing PFD

LEWISPORTE, N.L. - RCMP in Newfoundland and Labrador are investigating after a man was found dead in the water.

Police say they found the man around 3:30 p.m. today after someone called to report a boat drifting near Dunnag Island in Boyd's Cove, 50 kilometres from the community of Lewisporte.

Police say an 86-year-old man was found dead in a flotation device next to a boat.

He was the only person in the boat.

His name is not being released pending notification of his family.
