GRAND FALLS, N.B. - A 19-year-old man charged in connection with an armed robbery and kidnapping in New Brunswick last week has pled guilty to some of the charges against him.

Ricky Roussel appeared in court in Grand Falls on Tuesday.

The charges stem from an incident on July 23, when a Drummond man was forced to hand over the keys of two of his vehicles to two suspects.

The victim was forced into one of the vehicles and taken to a wooded area in Saint-Andre where he was dropped off.

Roussel pleaded guilty to a charge of armed robbery, while the kidnapping charge was withdrawn.

Roussel will remain in custody until his sentencing on Sept. 6.

A 17-year-old also charged in connection with the same incident will appear in court this week.
