Police probe possible assault after man found unconscious, seriously injured

GLACE BAY, N.S. - Police in Cape Breton are investigating after a man suffered serious head injuries over the weekend.

Staff. Sgt. Mike Kennedy says major crime investigators are trying to determine if the 24-year-old was the victim of an assault.

Officers and paramedics were called to an apartment building in Glace Bay after receiving a 911 call early Sunday.

The man was found unconscious in an apartment.

He was rushed to hospital in Sydney before being transferred to Halifax, where police say he remains in critical condition.
