Man, 54, dies after losing control of vehicle on Newfoundland highway

HOLYROOD, N.L. - A 54-year-old man died Saturday after losing control of his vehicle on a Newfoundland highway.

RCMP say the crash happened on Route 90 near the Salmonier Nature Park, about 20 kilometres southwest of Holyrood.

The Mounties say the man was pronounced dead at the scene, while another man was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say road conditions were extremely poor at the time of the crash.

The name of the victim has not been released pending the notification of family.
