PEACHLAND, B.C. - Search and rescue crews are on scene at a small plane crash in British Columbia's southern interior.

Canadian Navy search and rescue spokeswoman Capt. Annie Djiotsa says a plane has gone down near Brenda Mines, about 22 kilometres west of Peachland in B.C.'s Okanagan region.

Djiotsa says it is not known how many people were on board or what kind of aircraft crashed.

She says a Cormorant helicopter is on its way to the scene of the crash.
