HALIFAX - Nova Scotia police are looking for a suspect after a woman was assaulted in the Bedford area of Halifax on Saturday.

Police say a 43-year-old woman was walking her dog around 12 p.m. on a path near Shore Drive when she was knocked to the ground by an unknown man.

After a struggle it is believed the woman's dog bit the man and he fled.

Police say the woman then returned home and told a family member who went back to the area and notified police.
