HALIFAX - The RCMP are investigating an all-terrain vehicle crash in Halifax that killed a 51-year-old man after he hit a tree.

The Mounties say Roger Paul Burns died after the ATV he was on crashed on private property in Enfield on Thursday at about 8:45 p.m.

Cpl. Scott MacRae says he wasn't wearing a helmet at the time.

Two children aged seven and 11 were also on the ATV.

The 11-year-old was taken to the IWK Health Centre for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The seven-year-old was not hurt.

Police are still investigating but have ruled out alcohol as a factor.
