The big finish: Stephan Bonnar jumps on unlikely title shot vs. Anderson Silva at UFC 153

Although Stephan Bonnar never officially said the words, he certainly felt retired from the UFC.

After a lengthy career in mixed martial arts highlighted by arguably the most important fight in the sport's history, Bonnar was ready to enjoy life outside damp, suffocating gyms. He would fish, act, comment, coach and be a father to his first child arriving this fall.

So what in the world is this nearly retired light heavyweight doing in an octagon in Rio de Janeiro at UFC 153 on Saturday night, fighting pound-for-pound champion Anderson Silva in front of the Spider's frenzied home fans?

Bonnar was handed a highly improbable title shot only after a series of card changes. Although Bonnar knows he's the longest of long shots, the fighter known as the American Psycho just couldn't turn it down.
