Featherweight Chris Horodecki to headline Score Fighting Series card in Sarnia

TORONTO - Former WEC and IFL fighter Chris (The Polish Hammer) Horodecki will take on American featherweight Kalvin (Hot Boy) Hackney in the main event of the Score Fighting Series card in Sarnia, Ont., on Oct. 19.

The 24-year-old from London, Ont., is currently training at the Tristar gym in Montreal.

Hackney (12-3) is coming off a June win over Booker Arthur after a pair of losses in Bellator.

"He's going to be a tough opponent," Horodecki (18-4) said in a statement. "He's athletic and strong and comes forward with a very aggressive style."

Other fights on the RBC Centre card include John Fraser versus Tyler Toner, Jesse Gross versus Seiji Sugiman-Marangos, Lyndon Whitlock versus Rick Glenn and Josh Taveirne versus Brett Biederman.

NOTES — "Legend of a Warrior," directed by Calgary's Corey Lee, will open in Toronto at the Projection Booth Metro and its sister cinema Projection Booth East, starting Sept. 21. The NFB documentary follows Corey's efforts to reconnect with his father, Edmonton-based martial arts legend Frank Lee. The film premiered at Hot Docs 2012 in Toronto ... Elvis Mutapcic, a Bosnian-born middleweight now based in Iowa, will face faces Joseph (Leonidas) Henle for the MFC middleweight title in the main event of "MFC 35: Explosive Encounter" on Oct. 26 in Edmonton.
