LOS ANGELES, Calif. - He's been the "governator," the terminator and a world champion body builder.

Now Arnold Schwarzenegger is attempting to take on yet another role — as elder political statesman.

The former California governor, who left office nearly two years ago, comes to the University of Southern California on Monday to play host to the first USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy symposium.

The gathering will feature such big names as Senator John McCain and director James Cameron on a pair of panels discussing how politicians can learn from Hollywood the art of getting things done.

For Schwarzenegger, the symposium launches a sudden public re-emergence.

He has a new book coming out next month, a couple of new movies in post-production and a forthcoming appearance scheduled for CBS' "60 Minutes."
