Abankwah runs for 152 yards, including a 53 yard TD, as Huskies beat Mounties

HALIFAX - Drew Jacobson passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Saint Mary's Huskies (2-3) used a dominant ground game to defeat the Mount Allison Mounties (1-4) 43-7 Friday in CIS football.

Jacobson threw a 25-yard scoring pass to Matthew Simich in the first quarter and a 23-yarder to Carl Fitzgerald that made it 23-0 in the second quarter. Jacobson also scored on a one-yard run.

Melvin Abankwah scored for Saint Mary's on a 53 yard run, and finished the game with 152 yards on 11 carries. Michael Dawes rushed 13 times for 103 yards for the Huskies.

Jordan Botel scored the lone Mount Allison touchdown on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter. Botel also went over the 100 yard mark in rushing, with 105 yards on 26 carries.
