Calgary middleweight Nick (The Promise) Ring falls ill, misses out on UFC 154

MONTREAL - Calgary middleweight Nick (The Promise) Ring has withdrawn from UFC 154 after falling ill.

The UFC said Ring (13-1) felt bad following Friday's weigh-in. As a result, his main card matchup with American Costa Philippou (11-2 with one no contest) has been scrapped.

Lightweights Mark Bocek of Woodbridge, Ont., and Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos move up to the main card.
