LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Cain Velasquez picked up a basic purse of US$200,000, including a $100,000 win bonus, for reclaiming his heavyweight title at UFC 155.
Velasquez won a unanimous decision over champion Junior Dos Santos in the main event of Saturday's card in Las Vegas. Dos Santos collected $400,000, according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
The commission figures do not tell the whole story since the UFC does not detail all of its bonuses.
Lightweight Jim Miller earned $147,000, including a $41,000 win bonus and $65,000 for fight of the night, for his bloody win over Joe (J-Lau) Lauzon. The loser made $92,000 including his share of the fight of the night cheque. The bonus was the 12th of Lauzon's UFC career, tying him with middleweight champion Anderson Silva for most in the organization.
Middleweight Yushin (Thunder) Okami walked away with $84,000, including a $42,000 win bonus, for his victory over Alan (The Talent) Belcher ($37,000).
Heavyweight Todd Duffee, in his return to the UFC, collected $81,000, including an $8,000 win bonus and $65,000 for KO of the night, for his win over Phil De Fries ($14,000).
Bantamweight John Moraga made $87,000, including an $11,000 win bonus and $65,000 for submission of the night, for his win over Chris Cariaso ($12,000).
