The RCMP Bay St. George district is investigating two suspicious deaths in Piccadilly this morning.
Sgt. Wayne Newell, media relations officer with the RCMP, said Bay St. George officers were dispatched around 3:30 a.m. to a home in Piccadilly which was the scene of a double shooting, resulting in two deaths.
A man in his mid 30s and a man in his late 40s from the Piccadilly area are both dead. One died at the scene and the other succumbed to his injuries following transportation to Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville.
The chief medical examiner is assisting the Bay St. George RCMP major crimes units west and central, and Corner Brook RCMP forensic identification section in the investigation.
Newell said more information will be released as it becomes available.
He said all he can say at this time is the RCMP are not looking for any suspects.
