Human remains found among debris in Happy Valley-Goose Bay house fire

Human remains were located this afternoon among the burnt debris of a house in Happy Valley-Goose Bay that was destroyed by fire early this morning.
At about 2:30 p.m. today the RCMP, with the assistance of the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Volunteer Fire Department, Fire Emergency Investigators and the use of an excavator to remove debris, found and carefully removed the human remains.
The remains will be transported to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in St. John's for autopsy and identification.
RCMP say a 21-year-old woman has not been accounted for since the fire.
The investigation continues to determine the cause of the blaze that was reported about 3:10 a.m. today.
