Finance Minister Tom Marshall
Tom Marshall has decided not to seek leadership of the PC party.
“I don’t want the life,” said the minister of Finance. “The life of premier has to lead under the constant glare, and I’m comfortable with the life I have.”
Marshall was considering to run for the leadership of the provincial Progressive Conservative party, following the retirement of Danny Williams earlier this month.
He said he would make his decision over the Christmas holidays.
“I’m comfortable where I am,” he said. “With the portfolio I have and with the role I play in government it enables me to accomplish the goals I have for the province and for this area in particular.”
Marshall said he is backing Kathy Dunderdale for the Tory leadership, as did Minister of Health Jerome Kennedy and Minister of Education Darin King.
