The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a media release expanding a meats recall.
Officials have recalled Dats Deli Europeen products which may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
All best before dates up to and including August 10, 2010 (10AU10) of the products listed below are affected by this alert. These ready-to-eat meats are sold in various sizes, bearing Establishment number 155.
These products are known to have been distributed in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
The manufacturer, Dats Deli Europeen, Montreal, QC, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace.
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled. Consumption of food contaminated with these bacteria may cause listeriosis, a foodborne illness. Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
