Police say the stand off started around 7 p.m. Monday night when officers were called about a man in his 20s who was armed with a knife and threatening to harm himself.

When they got there, police spoke with the man from outside the house which is when he said he wasn’t coming out and that he would harm anyone who came inside.

Police say the man had been drinking throughout the day Monday.

Officers called in a negotiator, who talked to the man through an open window at the back of the house.

The man eventually surrendered to the negotiator around 2:20 this afternoon.

Police say they have not decided yet whether to lay charges in the case.
