Holman-Price is behind the Jessica Campaign to put sideguards on all heavy trucks.
Her daughter, Jessica, was killed in an accident with a truck and her son, Peter-Luc, was left with brain damage.
“The Jessica Campaign is bigger than sideguards; we really are about promoting safety,” Holman-Price said.
Last year St. John’s had its first Safety Week on the week of Jessica’s birthday.
“Of course we ask for your support, we ask you to write letters, we ask you to put sideguards on the sides of your trucks, we keep asking and asking,” she said. “Safety week is a way for us to give back.”
As part of spreading Safety Week around the province, Holman-Price said she’s been giving away helmets to communities who hold events.

Labrador City, Grand Bank, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and other communities have participated.
“Just do what you can do to promote safety and sharing your roads, and I’ll send you some helmets,” Holman-Price said.
The helmets came as the result of a contribution from the Dr. Tom Pashby Sports Safety Fund; Holman-Price has also been nominated for the fund’s national award recognizing sports safety.
Safety week wraps up this Saturday with a safe driving rally put on by Young Drivers of Canada at Confederation Building at 11 a.m.
The Jessica Campaign will also be there with prizes and information.
