Liberals roasting Grimes to raise money

The Liberals will be holding their first fundraiser of 2011 by taking some shots at former premier Roger Grimes.

The event — “Grimes and Punishment” — will be held in St. John’s on March 1.

“We are very excited about this fundraiser as we are assured it will be an entertaining night for all who attend. Roger has a wonderful sense of humour and so it was no surprise that he has graciously agreed to this form of punishment,” said Liberal Party President Judy Morrow.

The fundraiser will feature Snook leading the roast.

Anyone interested in attending can contact the Liberal Party at 754-1813.

Wonder will John Efford be there...might make for an interesting night!! And even more interesting if Danny Dumeresque shows up. Maybe there will be pie throwing...haha.

yes we remember the funny jokes; he used to tell about nflders at fancy eating suppers down in new york city USA; and his use of colourful language.....what a joke this fellow was; thank god danny came along and lifted the people of this province; after wells tobin and grimes.....we sorely needed it; these three LIBERAL lounge lizards represented the worst of leadership at the political level; the damage these three done can never be repaired....

Roger Who? Seriously. Maybe he can help advice government on the closure of more provincial parks.

A pie throwing would be great. Personally when anybody politically gets "excited" I run for the hills!

I liked Roger Grimes when I was with the Chretein and Martin Team in Ottawa. When Premier Roger Grimes and MLA Tom Lush came to the microphone during a Federal Liberal Convention, you knew for sure they came with a real plan. They were there for the people of Newfoundland. As far as I know, both Roger Grimes and Tom Lush never packed their bags and left the province. I don't care how hot the fire may become when Roger is roasted. He is still highly respected in my history book!
