How lucky that you get to wax nostalgic about your "glory days" of exploration...enjoy wallowing in those gobs of money, while the rest of us quietly die off or move away. God bless St. John's though.....you really 'earned' your charmed lives. That the only reason any of you ever lived there is because of the codfish the rewst of us supplied.......well, don't let that bother you even a little. Youy really WERE brilliant to have sat there for decades waiting for Chevron and Mobil to show up....simply brilliant. Congratulations, your smugness is entirely deserved. And please keep it all over there...we're just fine.

To the best of my knowledge a drill rig (semi-submesible)has never entered St. John's harbour. Numerous drill ships of course have entered but I'm doubtful if a semi could fit through the narrows especially back in the early 80's before the dredging.
