OTTAWA — Roman Catholic Bishop Raymond Lahey is set to face trial today in Ottawa on child pornography charges.

The 70-year-old is the former head of the diocese in Antigonish, N.S.

He was charged in September 2009 with possessing and importing child pornography.

Lahey was arrested after border agents searched a laptop at Ottawa airport when he arrived from Britain.

Police say they found hundreds of files and dozens of videos, many of them showing young males engaged in sex acts.

Lahey has been staying with other priests in Ottawa since he was granted bail.
