One person injured in industrial accident

Firefighters, police and paramedics responded to an industrial accident about noon today at the Coast Guard dock on Southside Road in St. John’s.

One person was removed from the ship Sygnus and transported to hospital by ambulance. The person appeared to be conscious, however, the extent of any injuries is unknown.

Work was being carried on onboard the ship at the time.

The RNC and Occupational Health and Safety officials are investigating.
