CALGARY — Prince William and Kate’s visit to Canada will include Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa and a stop in Calgary on the first day of the Stampede.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will also stop in Montreal, Quebec City, Yellowknife, Charlottetown and Summerside, P.E.I.

The tour begins June 30 and will conclude July 8.

The duchess is reportedly a fan of the book “Anne of Green Gables,” which is set in Prince Edward Island and written by Lucy Maud Montgomery

The tour ends in Calgary on the same day that the world-famous Stampede rodeo kicks off with a parade.

William and Kate were married in Westminster Abbey on April 29.

“Canadians hold the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in very high esteem and look forward to welcoming them as they embark on their first official royal tour as newlyweds,” Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a release.

“The couple’s decision to visit Canada first is a testament to our country’s close relationship with the Crown and Royal Family, and an opportunity for all Canadians to take pride in our traditions, history, and institutions.”

This will be the third time Prince William, who is second in line to the British throne, has toured Canada. It will be Kate’s first visit.

The royal couple’s plans include:

— Quebec City on July 3.

— Charlottetown from July 3 to July 4.

Who pays for this junket? Are Canadian taxpayers footing the bill for these inbreeds and so called Royals.Time to dump the monarchy in Canada and the hand-a-shores who are part of it. We don't need them in Canada.Put them to work in England like others there. Queenie can be head of the local Geritol club,Philip can collect the empty rum bottles in the city and buy his own booze out of the proceeds,Charlie can be a a judge on a tv beauty contest reality show.He got the nose for it. Camille can give marriage counsel lessons to marriage cheats. And on it goes. Madness, complete madness ,all on the taxpayers dim?? Grrrr.
