Fisheries researchers in N.L. get more provincial money to study cod stocks

The government of Newfoundland and Labrador is allocating another $450,000 to cod stock research.

Fisheries Minister Clyde Jackman says projects for this year are now being developed and reviewed.

Jackman says giving scientists and biologists the resources they need helps contribute to their knowledge and understanding of fish stocks.

To date, the province says it has contributed almost $2 million to a cod recovery strategy.

The money is in addition to the $14 million announced for fisheries science and applied fisheries research in July 2010.

This is great news for fish.With so few left to catch the provincial government may set up a holding pen for them at Mile One and give the $450,000 to the new hockey team to entertain them. She;s gone boys,the arse is outta her.
