ORLANDO, Fla. — A Florida jury has acquitted Casey Anthony of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

Anthony showed no reaction when the jury’s verdict was read Tuesday after more than 10 hours of deliberations. She could have received a death sentence if she had been convicted of first-degree murder.

The state had the burden of proof for first degree murder. When watching the trial, it was clear that they did not successfully prove intent to kill. At best the state should have tried to convict on third degree (due to negligence). It was very difficult to prove what actually happened to the child because the human remains didn't provide time of death, clear location, etc. A child dying is horrible, but it was the states mistake to go after the wrong charge when they were building a case.

Yes...this is all about justice, isn't it? Now turn the channel and find some other mind-rotting, humanity-devouring infotainment.

That poor darling little innocent toddler, Caylee. Instead of being in prison, now this heartless murder will become a famous multi-millionaire with movies and books, and has shamed her parents and brother beyond imagination. Conscience...she doesn't know what the word means; however, I hope it eats her up for her lifetime.

What a total miscarriage of justice. Caylee, you poor little baby with the big sad, sad eyes. Soooo if Casey gets out of jail on Thursday, in nine months she can have another baby to play god(dess) over!

I am so disgusted by this verdict. There is no justice for Caylee. Guilty of 4 counts of providing false information - a maximum of 4 years in prison if it runs consecutively. Wow. What a miscarriage of justice. Rest in peace Caylee.
