The Department of Fisheries and Oceans announce today that management measures are available online at http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/decisions/fm-2011-gp/atl-047-eng.htm

As previously announced, the dates for this year’s recreational groundfish fishery in the province are: summer fishery will run from July 23-Aug. 14, with a fall fishery from Sept. 24-Oct. 2.

The public is reminded that fishing is not permitted in the Eastport and Gilbert Bay Marine Protected Areas (MPA).

Management measures will be the same as in 2010, including a daily bag limit of five groundfish per day (including cod) and a maximum boat limit of 15 fish when three or more people are fishing. This includes tour boats.
