BOAT HARBOUR, N.L. — RCMP are investigating after an 18-year-old pedestrian was pinned against a patio deck by an out-of-control van.

Police say in a news release that the woman was walking on a road at about 7 p.m. in the community of Boat Harbour, about 20 kilometres northeast of Marystown, when the incident occurred.

Police say the woman suffered injuries and was taken to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre for treatment.

She remains in hospital as of this morning, being treated for injuries.

Police did not disclose the woman’s name.
