Due to the latest weather forecast the event, St. John’s: Remembering Jack, that had originally been scheduled for this evening has been rescheduled to Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The location of the event remains unchanged — people wishing to honour and remember Jack Layton will gather at Harbourside Park on Water Street in St. John’s.

A book of condolences will be available for people to sign.

Layton, Leader of Canada’s Official Opposition, died early Monday morning to his second battle with cancer. He was 61.

this is NFLD! why are people so afraid of the weather?.. it's a commemoration for a great man and leader of a great party! what is with NFLD'ers??? have they all become afraid of getting a little wet? i imagine we would postpone the arrival of Santa, if a little snow were in the forecast! i mean no disrespect , but i am appalled that the organizers would put off this type of event.. thank goodness Mr. Layton didn't lose his battle here, or he would not have been layed to rest until regatta day kicked off! ridiculous!
