Where was Duff Conacher when Dannystan changed the election law so you could vote in an election or by-election that hadn't actually been called yet? He's awfully selective about what democracy he watches.

Is this a joke? Good god, we don't want to have an election that inconveniences anybody. I wonder what the people who fought and died for democracy would think of this joke. If people can't bear this burden then lets just cancel the election and simply draw a name out of hat. What whining pussies have we become.

Why did they wait until a month and a half before the election to bring this up. Hasn't this legistlation been in place for the past few years now??????

Duff, I just wasted a minute of my life reading your comments. First of all, its the young people of this province and across Canada that caused the Orange wave of the NDP. We saw a huge change in the last national election of young people getting out and voting, and politicians should certainly pay attention to that. For you to not recognize that, have you been living under a rock? With the recent passing of Jack Layton, I believe that people care now more than ever about the people they're voting into office. I can't really see how the weather is that much different from September to October here in NL. So that argument is invalid as well.

dude or dudette; u must live in beautiful stjohns avalon; but in labrador; i suppose u ve heard of it; and west coast and northern pen; they are other areas of the province in case u r wondering we have winter; snow? it snows in late oct and snows and snows in november; in lab and rest of the island; weather can be nasty off the beautiful avalon; hard enough now to get people of any age to vote; can u say federal election? was 50 per cent of so who voted; orange crush are u joking; young people; yes some are involved; and of course with liberals especially they only need bus load to throw up front in photo op; like brian tobin used to; and people think young teens and 20 something vote; u r sadly mistaken; plus with advance ballots now; liberals can bring u right to poll clerk who is also usually liberal supporter and they can make sure u vote; and especially this corrupt special ballot voting which workers wicked good for liberals; and really good for them with old senior people; senile the kinda of voters liberals like; young people usually smarter and tell these liberal vote machine catchers to go jump in the lake; especially when liberal special ballot people got their ballots fillled out for old people where u have only gotta sign and hand them open envelope so they can make sure u voted liberal; and if they didnt they can then tear up special ballot and try to get new one or usually they just tear up special ballot and toss it in the garbage; without voters knowledge...

I would certainly support this. I'm a busy mom of three, a full time student, a part time worker. Yes, push it back for a time when life is calmed down for alot. Makes sense, I like it!
