The provincial election officially starts today at 10 a.m. when Premier Kathy Dunderdale pays a visit to Lt.-Gov. John Crosbie at Government House in St. John’s.

However, things are already going fast and furious for the province’s political leaders.

Liberal Leader Kevin Aylward will also hold a campaign launch at 10 a.m., just as Dunderdale visits with Crosbie. Aylward will launch his campaign on the front steps of Confederation Building.

A short while later, NDP Leader Lorraine Michael will hold an event to launch her campaign at 11:30 p.m.

For the next three weeks the leaders will criss-cross the province, courting votes ahead of election day Oct. 11.

Keep your eye on for election updates, and detailed coverage in the print edition.
