Kathy Dunderdale took time out from campaigning to address YCNL 2011 Sunday afternoon.
The PC leader and premier told the young Christians packed into Mile One they are better than gold, oil or any resource the province has.
She encouraged them to give and live selflessly, quoting from a rap song by American Christian hip-hop artist LeCrae as well as Joyce Meyer, a Christian writer who has influenced her.
"We are waiting to hear from you as you take your places in leadership positions all over our province, as you influence change in your friends, your families, and your communities," Dunderdale said.
She told delegates there was nothing more powerful than their faith.
YCNL is Atlantic Canada's largest annual multi-denominational youth conference.
It attracts youth from junior high to university age.
