Man charged with drug-related offences

A 49-year-old Deer Lake man was arrested Thursday night after the RCMP/RNC street drug team entered a home in the west coast town with a search warrant and seized about a half ounce of cocaine, and two and half ounces of marijuana.

The man was released from police custody and is slated to appear in provincial court in Corner Brook in late February.

The charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana.

Deer Lake RCMP members and the RNC Canine Unit was also involved in the arrest.
