Brian Thomas Grech, 23, is facing one charge of aggravated assault and three charges of breach of probation.

Both are from Grand Falls-Windsor and are known to police, the RCMP says.

A third person who had been arrested, a male in his late teens, has been released from custody without charge at this time.

Following their court appearance today, Pinsent and Grech were remanded in custody and are expected back in court Tuesday for a bail hearing.

Officers from the Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP detachment were called to an apartment building in the community at approximately 1:30 a.m Sunday. A man in his mid-20s from Bishop's Falls was found bleeding heavily outside the building. The RCMP said today the victim has stabilized and is being transported to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's for further treatment.

An RCMP news release has said the victim had been stabbed multiple times and was struck with an undisclosed weapon.

A search warrant was executed in the residence associated with the assault and both weapons have been recovered.

@ KIM: I agree completely. Two years ago, my brother in law was murdered outside of a bar in Grand Falls- Windsor and the person who murdered him did not receive any punishment whatsoever. Somebody needs to seriously analyze the justice system because it really makes no sense to me at all.

I can not understand why the charge is assault with a weapon and not attempted murder???
