RNC seek public assistance in armed robbery investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying a person responsible for an armed robbery at a commercial business on Topsail Road in St. John’s, Dec. 26.

Police say around 1:30 p.m. officers responded to an armed robbery at Shoppers Drug Mart, 390 Topsail Rd.

No injuries were sustained during the commission of this offence.

The male suspect is described as about 5 feet, nine inches to six feet, two inches tall, in his late 20s to early 30s and clean cut.

At the time of the offence, he was wearing a dark winter vest, light- coloured hoodie, dark pants and light-coloured baseball hat.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate this robbery and is seeking the assistance of the general public. Anyone with information that would assist in identifying the person responsible or anyone who may have any information in relation to this crime is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
