Two St. John’s men, ages 21 and 35, were arrested Thursday morning after RCMP officers found 364 ecstacy pills and a set of brass knuckles in a vehicle during a traffic stop.

The two men were released from custody to appear in court at a later date.

The RCMP were carrying out an investigation into drug trafficking at the time of the arrests.

On Thursday afternoon, RCMP drug section members were involved in executing a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The search was conducted at a residence on Cowperwaithe Court in St. John's.

Approximately half a pound of marijuana — which equals about 600 marijuana cigarettes — and $8,000 cash were seized. Two males arrested in this incident were released from custody to appear in court in March.
