Woman arrested on drug-related offences

A 36-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday night in St. John’s and charged with three counts of possession of illegal drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

The arrest came about 10:47 p.m. when members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary drug section, with the assistance of patrol officers, searched an east-end city residence. A quantity of oxycontin, ritalin, methadone and cash was siezed.

The accused was held in custody for a court appearance today.
