as a canada post employee it is vitial to keep and support your Postal outlets.yes there is a decline in mail because of the internet but many people and businesses still depend on mail services.however the amount of people using canada post for recieving and sending parcels.with such sites as ebay people want to get the parcels safely.if there is no safe means to get parcels then next thing people will recieve there parcels on the door step and with NL weather that would not be a good outcome. We are not just a letter service ....we provide other services such as moneygrams, faxes, student loan drop offs, reset pins for credit cards/ debuts, etc.

This will be very bad in rural areas. Some seniors can only get to the post office on Saturday when their family is available to take them. A lot of seniors still use mail to pay bills and even write letters! We need more better paying jobs here not less! It is time to get away from the minimum wage is good enough mentality, especially when the cost of living is increasing so much.

Poor putup residents of Paradise. Can't they drive to the post office at the Lawtons Building to do their business?? A lot of communities have no post office and have to drive to do their business.

What you are seeing here is a lean towards oursourcing Lawtons in Paradise has a postal outlet that is open 7 days a week Postal workers make $22+/hr Lawtons workers make $10+/hr you will see many corporate owned and run post offices close and outsourcing become a greater presense Otherwise a stamp will cost $2 in years to come

There you go. The Mayor says that Paradiseis just a bedroom community as no one is home in the town Monday to Frieday so they need the Post Office on Saturday. In other words, this confirms that Paradise only exists because people can leave town to go to work in St. John's. About time they amalgamate to pay their fair share of St. John's pulic resources they use.

looks like canada post is trying to elimate jobs, reduce costs, salraries etc. those people working in the post office make $24 an hour, the employees in shoppers make minimum wage.

If they agree to close up Canada Post Paradise on Saturday ... People can always go to Lawtons in Paradise, they have a Post Office there open from 9am to 9:30 pm, as do Shoppers in Manuel's
