Stephenville resident dies in collision with snowplow

A 70-year-old year old resident of Stephenville has died after their vehicle collided with a provincial snowplow on Saturday.

The person’s vehicle was going west on the Trans Canada Highway near South Branch when the collision occurred. The two vehicles hit head on.

Road conditions at the time of the crash were poor with high winds, blowing snow and visibility near zero. The roads were also snow covered. 

The RCMP is investigating the accident.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
