The man accused of murdering a woman reportedly from this province has been denied bail.

Dale Davidson, 55, appeared in provincial court in Fort McMurray, Alta., on Tuesday. He has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 49-year-old woman.

According to Wood Buffalo RCMP, Davidson was arrested without incident last Friday in Fort McMurray. The woman’s body had been discovered the day before inside a home in the Thickwood area.

The RCMP is not releasing the victim’s name out of respect for the family.

Davidson’s case has been set over until April 16. He will appear that date through closed-circuit television.
