Bail hearing set for man suspected in brutal attack on girlfriend

Jeffrey Donald Heale, charged with aggravated assault and other charges, has been granted bail.

Heale is accused of attacking his girlfriend and trying to steal from her.

The woman suffered several injuries, was treated in hospital and released shortly after.

Heale is also charged with theft under $5,000, being unlawfully in a dwelling and uttering threats.

He is due back in court April 9 and is under conditions to post a $5,000 surety and to stay away from the complainant.

Last year, Heale faced criminal charges after two women accused him of attacking them in their home with a baseball bat. Heale was acquitted of those charges after a judge found the complainants lacked credibility.
