The RCMP is warning residents of yet another Newfoundland community to watch out for a polar bear.

According to police the animal was last seen on Route 430 near Three Mile Lake on the Northern Peninsula. The bear is believed to be heading north in the area of Bird Cove and Shoal Cove West.

The public is advised to be cautious in this area. Police are warning people not to travel alone and to refrain from using snowmobiles near these communities for the time being.
