MARION BRIDGE, N.S. — Police in Nova Scotia are investigating the discovery of a body found stuffed inside a hockey bag and floating on a river yesterday.

Police in Cape Breton say the body was found around 8 p.m. by homeowners after they spotted the bag floating on the river behind their home on Hillside Road in Marion Bridge.

Police say the residents pulled the bag towards the shore and opened it.

Officers from the major crime, identification and marine units are investigating.
