    Geoparks offer tourist activites, economic development Not always geoparks and other protected natural area are econimically sustainable as happens in Portugal because the private operators have competition of associations and state organizations promoting tours with the State funding. So the reality is not a sustainable geoparks but the geoparks are being supported by the contry tax payers. António (Greenwalk -geotours Portugal)
