Man, are "entertainment" fans ever odd. These comments are tough to read. I mean, it's a band guys, not a charity. Yes, they are incredibly wonderful the way they are nice to most of their fans just for millions of dollars. How noble. It makes me weep to see anyone say anything bad about a rich youth who made fun of a young girl. And on the other side, is anyone surprised a bunch of young millionaires aren't that kind? Does that really shock you? Have you ever known young rich people to be the real decent people? Man people, grow up. You're all living in LaLa land. Maybe it's time to invest this time and concern in something like helping starving children.

Honestly, I really think he is sorry. It was after a concert, and he was at a bar. He wants to have a good time, and knowing Jacob, he is going to get loaded. He was drunk and obviously didn't realize what he was saying. He apologized and even offered to fly her to one of his concerts and apologize in person. He wouldn't be going to such lengths to apologize if he didn't mean it. He is taking money out of his own pocket to send her up there and say sorry. Plane tickets aren't cheap either. She shouldn't of done this, and brought it to people's attention like this. People call what he done immature, but what she done was just as bad. Bringing it to the news? I mean come on. There is no need. Sure, if she didn't say something about it he wouldn't have apologized but it was because he was drunk and didn't remember. The least she could have done was said it to him personally instead of making a big deal of everything. Everyone is going to think he is something that he's not now. He is one of the sweetest guys ever. Everyone has been an asshole in their life, and I'm sure she has too. Everyone makes mistakes, and this one he didn't mean to at all. Seems like she only brought it to everyone's attention so she could get something out of him. What he said isn't going to change my point of view on him in the least bit. He is still amazing in a lot of people's eyes.

I hope you are happy with all the problems you have caused by choosing to write this article in the first place. Hedley is a kind and generous band known for more than just there music, but also for how much they care about their fans. We are all human beings and all make mistakes we could take back. Jacob just happened to say the wrong thing to the wrong person. By writing these articles, all you have done is crushed the bands reputation in the eyes of the people who don't know them that well. Hedley fans take news and hate like this to heart, we understand that Jacob is a human being, and we feel upset and hurt that he has been placed in a negative light like this. All these comments should not be continuing to portray him as a heartless person, he apologized on Facebook, signing off by his name meaning it was not any manager (who signs off with TH). What more do you want him to do? And analyzing the way he formed the apology? So what he said "may" in it? Its possible he was not completely sober, and therefore does not remember what be said. Give a caring, generous and kind human being a chance.

Hoggard refers to a comment he ' may ' have made ?. The ahole is not even admitting he actually referred to the girl as a midget. She should have told him he reminded her of Gerry Colbert. Ouch !.

He was more then likely drunk and doesnt remmeber it. He "said it" at 1:30 in the morning at a club.

      June 01, 2012 - 08:34

k kayla really needs to stop. her 15 minutes of fame is done. She had no right to tweet ellen. it was her own fault for going up to him at a club at 1:30 in the morning the sam night as one of their concerts. People really need to stop talking shit about him. No on is perfect. Everybody makes mistakes. They have ALWAYS gone above and beyond for their fans and if you are going to judge them for one drunk comment then you were never a fan to begin with. He has promised to apoligize to her in person and fly her to a show to show her that he is truly sorry. This has nothing to do with him being famous and thinking hes better then everyone. He made ONE mistake. Let it go. Go bitch about something else.

The nerve! Apologizing like that! He should take a lesson from all the people in the world who don't say inappropriate things, especially when they may have been drinking. Unbelievable!

If he really care he wouldn't of said that to a true fan.. can we say Damage Control?

Agreed Sammy. The only reason he apologized was because of public pressure to do so.

Tell him to put the tickets where the sun don't shine!

my advice to kayla... grow! hes in a band he doesnt care hes trying to hgave a good time as a person, not as a guy that is the headman in a band, i wouldnt have even said a word, and for you to take it to the paper, common whats that going to prove besides getting you your 15 seconds of fame

Translation: "Our publicist believes the fact that my callous, bigoted, disparaging, offensive comments have gone viral could adversely impact future ticket and music sales. I really don't think so but, to humour the publicist, I said she could issue a statement on my behalf (a statement I didn't actually see) to the effect that this is a one-off, an aberration, and that I'm normally a very nice guy who would never say anything hurtful to fans. Now pss-off!"

I agree with Sammy...no doubt he was drunk and acting BIG at the time he said it to her. I would have a few choice words to say to Mr. Hoggard.

    May 31, 2012 - 16:28

If I were Kayla I would not accept anything he had to offer.... It is shameful of him to degrade anyone in this manner. He needs a lesson in life skills and for his music I would not go listen to him even if it was free.... Money cannot buy you self respect and he apparently has none.

  • Patrick
    May 31, 2012 - 16:26

If you do take him up on the offer make sure he apologize on stage in front of all his fans.

    May 31, 2012 - 15:18

People don't call others hurtfull names by accident! If he said it , he meant it!! And by the way.....exactly what is a "Hedley"??? Kayla will have the last laugh, when in a couple of years the band will just be a memory!!

  • DeeBee
    May 31, 2012 - 15:16

What's a..."Hedley"? I agree with Sammy...no need for Mr. Big Shot to insult or alienate anyone. He knew darn well what he was doing at the time. Tell him to stuff it.

    May 31, 2012 - 15:12

I agree with Sammy. This is a classic non-sequitur, far from an apology. He doesn't acknowledge saying it, and makes it sound as if the young lady in question mis-interpreted what he said. If he wanted to apologize, he would say something like "I was wrong for being impolite and disrespectful, and I'm sorry." Jacob, time to get some manners, AND a better publicist.

Only became aware of this story today and was somewhat shocked when I read it. With that said I do believe that the gentleman has done what one would expect a decent person to do and apologize. Offering the lady something that will be a once in a lifetime offer, I believe, is well above what one would expect. Don't know the guy or what his music is like but I do feel he has come acoss and accepted his blunder. Forget Sammy's advice Kayla and go have a good time.

I agree with Sammy, the only thing 'midget' here is Hoggarts mind and attitude! You are as offensive as your music! Your fans are your priority because they help you to live your hedonistic lifestyle. Get a job like the rest of us!

      May 31, 2012 - 21:12

My experiences with Hedley have been the complete opposite of what Kayla has expressed, and I wouldn't even call myself a Hedley fan. I know first hand of these guys reaching out to their fans on amazing levels and seem to really try and give back to their fans. I have to agree with some, Jacob was "off-duty" and "out on the beers" and shouldn't be judged for this remark. Yes, the words he used may be politically incorrect, but I remember a day when it was considered proper to use the word. Just because he sings (as his JOB) doesn't mean he owes anyone anything! Everyone's salary is paid by someone! Get over it people and move on! This isn't news worthy! Keep up the good work Jacob!

      May 31, 2012 - 21:43

To Kayla: My grandmother had a saying - Never look a gift horse in the mouth! Obviously it's in this singer's best interest to go above and beyond to make it up to you for his ignorant comment. But anyone can make a mistake, and perhaps you can help him learn to less ignorant and more polite in the future. I say if he wants to give you and another person a free trip to a concert, put you up in a hotel for a couple nights including airfare that you should take him up on the offer. Now that he's willing to give you the time of day perhaps you should take advantage of his generosity and show him what type of person you are!

@Sammy even better: ignore your suggestion of bawdiness, grow up and accept his sincerity and apology. Have a little gratitude. It's a beautiful thing when we are all mature and handle mishaps in a adult-like manner.

Is he really so full of himself that he would think that Kayla would ever want to go to one of his shows. He needs to man up and properly apologize to this young lady!

    • Lisa
      June 01, 2012 - 04:51

I agree with Sammy, I wouldn't accept anything from him. If she hadn't blogged about what he said she would have never gotten an apology from him. He is only doing it now to try and save face. Its sad the world revolves around peoples looks these days and not whats on the inside.
