A 35-year-old Pasadena man is facing charges of illegal driving after his vehicle was stopped on the Trans-Canada Highway near the west coast town today.

The man also owes about $10,000 in outstanding fines.

Charges include driving without a licence, operating a vehicle with expired registration, and operating a vehicle without an insurance policy.

The vehicle was towed and removed from the highway.

The man was released to appear in provincial court in Corner Brook on Aug. 14.

What most DOPES out there dont realize about the DOPES who continue to drive while under suspension, owing thousands in fines having no legal documents is that it is up to the DOPES that the first mentioned DOPES elected to the HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY to pass laws to deter the driving DOPES from flipping the finger at the judiciary and the rest of the DOPES who dont know how to go about getting the DOPES at the CONFEDERATION BUILDING to do something positive to rectify the actions of DOPES in general.Remember, when someone has the floor in a government preocrdure and is trying his/her hand at at comedy, the real comics are in the audience.

They need to impose consequences for not paying fines. At one point, if you didn't pay your fines within a reasonable amount of time, you were tossed in jail for a set period or until the fine was paid. Obviously this was a losing situation financially for the Government but there are other ways. Force them into community service programs for their time instead of jail. Make them work off their fines. Maybe then after some hard work at getting those fines paid, they may no be so inclined to re-offend.

Another fine should do the trick! Maybe when someone gets killed, our justice system will realize "enough is enough"

How do you relate someone getting killed to some guy driving with a suspended license?

People here need to be told that a fine is not an Air Miles voucher. Clearly, many people are mistakenly saving them up for a trip somewhere.
