A hiker who became lost in the woods near Power’s Road in the Goulds area of St. John’s Thursday night eventually made her way safely out of the forest on her own, the RNC says.

The 47-year-old woman was reported missing at 7:30 p.m. She had lost her way in the heavy fog.

RNC Ground Search co-ordinator, Rovers Ground Search Team and the RNC K-9 unit and patrol members began a search for the missing woman.

At around 10:30 p.m. the woman found her way to the highway and was picked up by patrol members. She was not injured during the incident.
