A woman was taken to hospital this morning following a two-vehicle accident in the east end of St. John’s.

The extent of the woman’s injuries are unknown at this time.

The accident occurred about 10:30 at the intersection of Newfoundland Drive and Logy Bay Road.

Extrication tools were used to free the woman from her vehicle. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

The RNC, St. John’s Regional Fire Department and ambulance service responded to the scene.

Traffic at the intersection is slow as the area is being cleared of the damaged vehicles and debris.

    Because drivers are not paying attention, you need an arrow on the light for people turning left on Newfoundland Drive. There is one on the other side going to Newfoundland Drive west. there have been quite a few accidents at this intersection the past few months.
