Members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) traffic services, accident investigation and forensics identification units are currently at the scene of a serious motor vehicle aciddent in the Goulds at the intersection of Ruby Line and the Robert E. Howlett Memorial Drive involving two vehicles, a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Pontiac G5. Street patrol officers are also diverting traffic through the area as all roads leading to and from the intersection are currently closed to traffic while they carry out their investigation. A female passenger in the Pontiac G5 has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, while two other occupants of the vehicles have also been taken to hospital with less serious injuries. Three people have been taken to hospital after a traffic collision on Robert E. Howlett Memorial Drive and Ruby Line.
One of the injured is in serious condition. The other two people have only minor injuries.
The section of Ruby Line that runs from Richard Nolan Drive to the intersection with Robert E. Howlett Memorial Drive has been closed to allow police to investigate the collision. There is no word on when it will reopen.
Traffic is being diverted down Doyle's Road.
The RNC is on the scene of a car collission in the area of Robert E. Howlett Memorial Drive and Ruby Line.
Motorists should be aware that traffic is being diverted down Doyle's Road.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing, there is no word yet on any injuries.
